Can Your Cat Talk?

September 17th, 2008 · No Comments · Cat Lovers Gifts

A lot of cat people think their cats talk to them.  Cats have never developed language in the same way as humans, but they do have a large vocal repertoire and are skilled at bossing their people, and fellow cats, around.  Some breeds of cat are more vocal than others. Siamese cats are famous for their long conversations, some of which can sound like they are being poked repeatedly with a stick.  Tortoiseshell cats seem to be quite talkative as well. Cats also use body language as much or more as they vocalize, especially in the position of their tails and their ears.

Whether or not your cat talks to you, you can acquire a talking cat—that is, a plush cat with the capability to record a 10-second sound bite, be it human words or meows.   If you are far away from a loved one who loves cats, and want to record a message for the cat to speak to them, this is a great cat lover gift.
