“Say What” Eosinophilic Keratitis Final Review

November 9th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

This past April 14, 2009 I wrote a post about Eosinophilic Keratitis about my Cat Michael whom had a problem with his eyes.  The Veterinarian used three different medications over a three month period where eye drop medication was use twice daily. The doctore diagnosed the problem to be none other than Eosinophilic Keratitis.  The doctor explained this to be a virus cased by upper repository  function.  The eye drops cleared up his eye to a certain extent but did not complete cure the problem.  The end result was to give Michael a twice daily dose of Viralys L-Lysine HCI Nutritional Supplement in his food.  This became a problem because there are six other cats in the household.  I tried a oral mediation twice daily but Mike got to the point he would run and hide because he recognized the syringe.

jessie-jand-and-michael1Well, this is Mike (on the right) today with his sister Jessie Jane and he still tears daily and will require medication for the rest of his life.  How did I finally resolve giving him his daily medication.  It was easy after thinking about the problem.  It was called a can of Bumble Bee Chunky Light Tuna. I have to feed Mike and his sister every morning trying to keep them separated from the Tuna delight with Mike’s powder medication mixed in his serving.  All the Cat Lovers need to remember that your cat health issues and problems are the up-most importance to keep them on the right track of being happy campers.
