Always inspect your cat’s ears as part of regular cat grooming. Grip the top of the ear and gently turn the ear flap inside out until you can clearly see the interior. If the ear appears clean there is no need for you to clean it. If your cat has any discharge other than brown ear-wax or dirt, you should take kitty to the vet for any bacterial, fungal infection or a mite infestation.

Start cleaning with dropping some ear cleaner into the cat’s ears. Rub the base of the ear for 20-45 seconds to “work-in” the cleanser. Leave your cat alone for a minute or two, to allow her to shake her head to further dislodge buildup. Next moisten a cotton ball or gauze pad and gently swab the cat’s ears. Do not use a Q-Tip unless instructed to do so by your vet.

And finally following the ear cleaning praise your cat with a treat.

Cat owners sooner or later will have to administer medications to their cats. There are several methods to get the medicine into cats, and some are easier than others.

Put a little butter on the pill and hold the pill in between the thumb and forefinger . Put the cat in your lap and with your other hand, gently grip the cat’s upper jaw above its snout. Use the thumb and forefinger of that hand to pull up on the upper jaw just behind the pointy canine teeth. Use the second and third fingers of the dominant hand to push down on the lower back teeth as you push the pill down into the cat’s throat.

Rub the cat’s chin and throat to encourage it to swallow the pill. Offer the cat some water to help wash down the pill.

You can use the Pill Pockets as another option for pilling cats. Simply press the pill into one of these treats and get your cat to eat it. Pill pockets can be purchased at most pet stores.

Your cats health is very important part of his life. Cat care is just a part of what one needs to consider when raising you favorite feline friend.

Teetle meows everywhere I go. I call her little Miss chatty Kathy. Basically all she wants is all my attention and love

Jazz cat only meows when he wants to go outside. He will sit at the bedroom door with a crying type meow to let him outside. He also sits at the door to be let out.

When I come into the bed room, Mrs. Kitty will start given me a large meow because she whats to be feed. She doesn’t stop until I fill her food bowl.

Michael used to hiss allot when I first got him. He was just letting my other cats to back off in no uncertain terms.

Samantha just gives a low quite meow when she want your attention while laying in bed.

Seven only meows when he is hungry or wants to go outside.

Jessie Jane meows at the other cats when she wants to play.

So knowing your cats meows will give you communication skills with your feline friends. Cats are generally trying to communicate with you when they meow. A lot of times it’s very easy to tell why they are doing it because they will be pretty clear about what they want. They meow when they want love and attention, when they want to be feed, when they want to go outside, when they want other cats to leave them alone and for just every other reason to communicate with you their need and desires. Remember understanding your cat is just part of the cat care need for your happy cat family.

Cats can sometimes adopt a blanket and use it like a security blanket. This will include lots of kneading, purring and suckling at the blanket. In some cases, cats have been observed to exhibit sexual movements accompanying the kneading and suckling. Kittens who are taken away from their mothers before they are fully weaned may also develop a habit of kneading a human whom they have adopted as a maternal figure, and suckling their ear, eye, nose, hair, shirt or fingers. Cats will also do this to fuzzy stuffed animals, such as teddy bears. Cats mainly do so as kittens, but sometimes the behavior continues into adult life.

How many times are you awaken with your favorite cat kneading your chest? I have seven cats whom are always kneading me throughout my day. Some of the main reasons why cats knead are they are just plain happy cats, the front paw action is exactly what your cat did as a nursing kitten, it is also a form of territorial making, they knead the sleeping area to make a fluffy bed for herself, they love you to death any your should consider it’s a compliment if your kitty decides to work its paws on you instead of a blanket. Just remember your cat health is just another part for his kneading love for you!

Your cat requires dry food, which is heavily plant-based and canned food, which is meat-based. Cats can be finiky eaters so one should not change their diet suddenly. If you suddenly change their diet it can stress your cat out. If you want to switch the diet do it gradually over a period of days.

Only use high quality cat food formulated to ensure your cats gets the healthy nutritional support they need through every stage of life. Kittens require a different formula, wereas, midel age and senior cats require different diets. As you cat ages, just remember to change the formula gradely to maintain nutritional values they require. One should note, unlife humans, they really don’t get bored eating the same food day after day!

Much has been written in regard to the importance of providing cat grass to feline pets. Some cat owners make the mistake of preventing their cat from eating grass. There are various reasons for this, one being that they think it makes their cat ill or upsets their stomach. This is an incorrect assumption and in fact the eating of grass followed by regurgitation is a perfectly natural behavior for all cats. In fact, there is a great deal controversy as to the importance of cat grass–why cats eat it and if it has any value for a healthy, active cat. Almost everyone will agree that cats do like to eat grass, and there are some real cat health benefits a domestic feline derives from ingesting it.

Cats derive fiber in a natural state from grasses. Cats do not possess the ability to separate meat from fur bones or feathers before eating like we do so they have to eat the digestible parts along with the indigestible parts. When the cat has finished digesting what he can the rest has to be removed from the system. To try and pass this through the digestive tract could cause obstruction and severe illness so this is where grass eating comes in. They can benefit from the additional vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and folic acid traditionally found in grass. The additional fiber aids in prevention of constipation and buildup of hair in the gut, resulting in more hair moving through the intestine, which means fewer hairballs. In addition, newly grown grass, which is a rich, dark green in color, is loaded with chlorophyll, a natural breath freshener.

Overall, grass can provide a tasty source of additional nutrients for cats and can help them maintain a balanced digestive system, while providing a healthy and enjoyable way to satisfy a natural craving.

It is no wonder as it is hard to resist the cuteness of a little fluffy creature that roll up on your knees and purrs from joy. Cats seldom beg for something unless it’s time to have a dinner. Anyone who has ever had a cat knows how close the relations between people and cats may be. Cats are loving, playful, charming and cute companions.

There are many reasons why we share our life with cats but all of them have something mutual. Love is that very thing which unites us: our love of animals, their grace, simplicity, sincerity, beauty, devotion, affection, spontaneity, playfulness. And their love of us, human beings, only cats knows the secret why do they love us.

Now I have 7 wonderful cats whom I enjoy there company day and night. The list is long why?

Michael’s nose that twitches and daintily stepping all over the newspaper when I’m reading

Jazz’s love affair with open boxes

Teattle’s full-body stretches and looking for me every time I’m in the shower

When Mrs. Kitty curls up on my chest and puts her paw to my cheek

When Jessie Jane gives me pet me now nudges

Seven’s attention-seeking stunts

Samantha’s sandpaper kisses

and finally with all of them their constant need to be near me, their ability to find the only square of sunshine on the carpet and fall asleep in it, their way they all curl their tails around their feet so tidily, when I wake up in the morning and look up they’re all there and their unconditional love and companionship.

This is what I call true cat care!!!

Giving Birth with your kittens problems are rare to say the least. Don’t ever try to fuss with your cat when she’s giving birth. Just monitor her activities in case there may be problems. We had to help our cat Samantha with her last kitten Michael because he was having problems coming out of the womb. If we had not reached in a pull Michael out he may have died during child birth.

A good parent monitor’s her activities after her cat gives birth to her kittens. The mother usually licks away the membranes and stimulates each kitten to take their first breath. If she fails to do this important job, you may have to intervene with your loving care. You should note that further contractions may arise in expelling the placenta which is eaten by your cat after she chews through each umbilical cord. She doest this to prevent predations from predators that her litter are helpless kittens.

Shortly after birth your cats first instinct is to keep her babies together and move they from danger. She carries them one at a time by the scruff. When we helped give birth to Samantha kittens, my wife was constantly interceding with her kittens and she removed them from her site and placing her kittens behind our office desk pushed up against the wall. It became a real task to retrieve them because the were in a place in an area only 3 inches wide.

Shortly after birth during the first few weeks, her kittens depends of mom to stimulate all the her babies body functions. She licks each kitten dry to prevent it from getting cold. She also licks their faces to make sure they are clear of mouth and nostrils of mucus

Once your kittens become to the adoption age, usually a minimum of eight weeks, make sure your interview all prospective new owners before you give up your precious babies. We have always told our new adoptive parents if they can not keep the cat for any reason to return them to us for keeping them ourselves or finding them a new home. Make sure you send them to Cat Palace USA for all there cat supplies for their new baby kittens.

There are lots of things one needs to consider when bring a new cat home to be with the family.

First, select a veterinarian to help you care for your cat. Set up an appointment for his/her physical to have a clean bill of health and a schedule for boosters shots, spaying and other things your feline friend will need to be a healthy cat.

If there are children in the home let them participate on how to care for their new companion. Read up as much as possible on how to care for your new cat. You can find lots of articles on the internet for any specific question you may have about your cat care.

If you have gotten your cat from a pet store, veterinarian or friend make sure you ask them their feeding schedule and type of food. Once your new kitty has settled in the new home, gradually mix in the new food you’ll be using because cats generally don’t like changes in their diet.

Purchase the essential item you will need such as a litter box and litter, feeding dishes, a cat bed, grooming tools, cat scratcher, a climber and a few toys.

Make sure someone in the family be responsible for feeding your cat, cleaning the litter box daily and grooming your little friend.

and, finally make sure you have play time and quite time with your new kitty cat.

Make sure you have a prevention treatment in place for the spring, fall and summer season

Make sure your cat receives all the prescribed vaccinations to protect against common diseases to keep your cat healthy.

Provide your baby cat with plenty of good quality premium food.

Give your cat lots of love and attention. Brush them regularly to keep your little friends well groomed and free of matted hair. Play with them daily for at least 15 to 20 minutes with their favorite game or toy.

Make sure the have the proper health care by visiting the veterinarian once a year for his/her annual exam to make sure your cat is healthy. Then problems are discovered early in a cats life, they are usually more successfully treated.

Take care of their litter needs every day by keeping this private area neat and clean.

Happy trails to you, our lovable feline friend.
