Why do cats like to lie on things, such as pieces of paper, folded bedding, clothing or whatever.

There are several  reasons why my cats do this.  Our feline friends like to be near us.  Jazz knows that if he plops himself right under my nose, he will get all the good attention. And is is right.  I stop what ever I’m doing a pay attention to his every whim. I think Jazz Cat has a need for my warmth and security.  He just leaves his scent on anything that belongs to me because it just makes him feel better and more secure.

Jazz also likes small spaces and this is probably the reason he likes a folded towel, magazine or my coat on the bed.  Or it might just another reason to be with me. Whatever the reason, it’s just another fascinating aspect of Jazz cat behavior for you to observe. So when your cat is suddenly lying on your newspaper right under your nose, take advantage of this compliment and pay her some attention. The quirkiness of cats is just one of the reasons we love them and find them so fascinating.

Joey said, “JJ, how do you suppose our old buddy, Auzzie, keeps so fit and energetic?”

“I guess I’ve never given it much thought,” JJ replied, “Lets ask him and see what he says.”

As if he had overheard them talking, Auzzie walked into the room and sat down facing them. “My ears are burning, have you been talking about me?” he said.

“Well”, said Joey, “As a matter of fact we were. We were wondering how you older guys keep so healthy!”

Auzzie paused in thought and then said, “I am going to tell you something that will answer your questions about being healthy and long-lived. It doesn’t start when you are old, it starts when you are young and still in your formative stage,” Auzzie went on. “It is having a balanced, tasty nutritious and healthy diet that gives you the energy to live life to its fullest.”

“Some scientists say that us felines, and uh, dogs too, should live 25 to 30 years but yet the average is only approximately 12 to 14 years. “Lack of proper nutrition is a key factor. That and not getting the care necessary to prevent other cat health problems that are always present.” Auzzie concluded with, “So, you see, that’s it. Good nutrition and good health care!”

Both Joey and JJ were silent. Then Auzzie said, “Let’s have some of that good nutrition I was telling you about. Here it is, Life’s Abundance Premium Health Food. Babies and Cats have much in common with each other,  mom and the family.  As you know from your own experience, a woman’s work is never done. Up at 5:00 A.M., breakfast, packing lunches, going to work, being soccer mom, cooking dinner, bed time stories for her children and then a late evening secret meeting with her husband (AKA Her Lover).

Now that we understand and appreciate Mom’s day lets compare why Babies and Cats are like each other in many ways.

Babies are just as curious as Cats

Cats have their littler box cleaned and Babies have their diapers  changed

Babies get a bottle of milk and Cats get a bowl for milk for breakfast

Babies sleep all night and play all day while Cats prowl all night and sleep all day

Babies and Cats play with lots of toys

Babies and Cats crawl around the floor looking to put something in their mouth

Both Cats and Babies like treats

And finally,  the Japanese Beta Fighter Fish Just Looked On
