Why do cats like to lie on things, such as pieces of paper, folded bedding, clothing or whatever.

There are several  reasons why my cats do this.  Our feline friends like to be near us.  Jazz knows that if he plops himself right under my nose, he will get all the good attention. And is is right.  I stop what ever I’m doing a pay attention to his every whim. I think Jazz Cat has a need for my warmth and security.  He just leaves his scent on anything that belongs to me because it just makes him feel better and more secure.

Jazz also likes small spaces and this is probably the reason he likes a folded towel, magazine or my coat on the bed.  Or it might just another reason to be with me. Whatever the reason, it’s just another fascinating aspect of Jazz cat behavior for you to observe. So when your cat is suddenly lying on your newspaper right under your nose, take advantage of this compliment and pay her some attention. The quirkiness of cats is just one of the reasons we love them and find them so fascinating.

When I take my cat for a ride in the car he simply hates the car by all the noise, the movement and the confusion surrounding the ride is simply too much.   Many cats spend the entire ride howling to escape.  The video describes how your cat can be when riding town. This can also be quite unpleasant to the owner.

The cat carrier is the most logical solution to taking your cat to the vet or just around town when you visit your friends.  The cat will feel safer in a carrier, as it will feel like a little shelter to him. Maybe put something that smells like home in the carrier with him. Try covering the carrier. With the scent of home in his little shelter and a cover blocking out the world, he might forget he’s in a car. 

Or if you like your cat to roam the car with you start by  acclimating your cat to the car prior to the needed ride. Put him in the car, give him food and treats then bring him back inside. Once he adjusts to this, then try doing it again this time also start the engine, if needed follow this with a short ride. Some of the anxiety is likely to dissipate as your cat realizes that he is safe and secure in the car.

• Remove fleas from Cat.
• Remove fleas from the indoor environment.
• Remove fleas from the outdoor environment
• Keep immature forms of fleas from developing in and around your home

This is the story about my most favorite all time cat Auzzie.  I found Auzzie at the animal sherter a number of years ago when doing a promotion at Chirstmas to be view on the local tv program about adoping shelter cats and dogs.  Auzzie took an imediate liking to my wife by kissing and hugging her.  We wanted to adopte him that day because he was so friendly and needed a home.  So we both jumped in and adopted him the very next day.

Because of our other Cats had a problem with a new cat in the house, we left him at our business that evening.  When we returned the next morning he was going crazy because being alone all night.  We decide then to take him home every night, caring him from home to work every day.  He became a fixture on the front counter where all our customer would give him pleanty of attention and TLC.

When our two major cats passed away, we kept him at home to wander our property chasing the wild life around our home.  During the day he would lay in the sun  all day, play with all is cat toys and prow all night for hidden critters.  About midnight he would bring in all his newly found friends to show us that he was a might hunter.  Snakes, mice and opossum where just a  few animals the bought in the house. 

Auzzie live to about 13, wherein he was attached and killed by my neighbors dog.  We cried for days.  He was cremated and will rest with me when I pass on.  Our ashes will be mixed together and tossed into the Caribbean.  Even at years of him being go to heaven, I still cry at night.  He was my best friend for many years.  I love you Auzzie!  You’ll always be with me in my heart!

Today is the celebration of Cinco de Mayo, a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.  It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States.  While Cinco de Mayo sees limited significance and celebration nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed nationwide in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

  Those cat lover’s who celebrate Cinco de Mayo should also have your favorite feline friend with his/hers own cat gift basket with all the toppings for the celebration.  I have researched all the big cats of Mexico and I sure you’ll like to have a little information about our feline friend to our South.  Mewchas Gracias!  Mexico Big Cats

Mexico is number four in the whole world for the diversity of its wildlife.  Mexico is not just majestic mountains and spellbinding coast and sea vistas, although it has a plethora of both. The country also has many thousands of square miles of desert with its special beauty, and much unexplored forests and jungle in States.

It is here the Jaguar rules as king of the beasts. He is heavier in head, jaw and body than the African leopard and twice as elusive. His only enemy is man, although to hunt them today is forbidden internationally, and the terrain makes that kind of sport difficult. The jaguar here feeds on wild boar, peccary, coatimundi and white-tailed deer.

Jaguars are solitary animals, only seeking mates during the appropriate season. The female normally gives birth to two cubs. The jaguar has been saved from certain extinction as it will take semi-wild stock allowed to graze freely through its range.

The Mountain Lion is next on the list just behind the jaguar in raw power The Mountain Lion is distributed all over Mexico and parts of the US in wilderness areas. Its diet is almost exclusively based n the White-Tailed deer.  Pumas often make their lairs in high caves and even large, hollow trees where the female bears 2 to 4 young. They are also protected, but the law in remote rural areas turns a blind eye to their sometimes being shot, especially with all the negative publicity coming from the United States in recent years over the (about 3) attacks on humans out jogging. Next in line to the throne is the Bobcat. This feline is native to the whole “Nearctic” or temperate region. Its most southerly point of distribution is Central Mexico. It also haunts brush and desert regions and can also be found in some pine and oak forests. It closely resembles a small lynx in appearance. What does a lynx look like? A large bobcat! It mainly feeds on rabbits, hares and small rodents, day and night, and will occasionally take deer fawns

The most beautiful of the Mexican felines, perhaps because it looks like kitty next door, is the Ocelot. This creature is very shy and lives in tropical forests where its gorgeous and distinctive markings provide camouflage. Another solitary creature, pairing-up in the spring leading to two cubs. Eats small rodents and birds, up to rabbits and hares; when in dire need, may attack larger prey, even monkeys and snakes. Nocturnal, the animal is rarely seen, perhaps as a legacy to the time it was nearly hunted to extinction for its unique pelt – no more.

The Jaguarundi. Often confused with the Ocelot, but not really similar, this beast looks more like a rugged alley-cat than the sleek Persian next door. It hunts birds and small animals.  The ocelot can still be found in gun-happy Texas, whereas the jaguarundi is now extinct there. Maybe because it’s not as pretty.

The rarest and smallest of Mexico’s pussy cats is the Margay, resembling an Ocelot and even more cute-kitty-like. One reason no one sees it is because it is strictly nocturnal and is looking down on you from a great height in the tree tops. It has special long, hooked claws for moving around easily in its arboreal world and it can hang from its tail or back legs. It is a specialist hunter, and feeds on birds, snakes and reptiles that are also found where it lives and not available to the other mammalian predators. Naturalists think the margay may play a significant part in controlling these creatures that have few other natural enemies.

There are many reasons why we share our life with cats but all of them have something mutual. Love is that very thing which unites us: our love of animals, their grace, simplicity, sincerity, beauty, devotion, affection, spontaneity, playfulness. And their love of us, human beings, only cats knows the secret why do they love us.

Now I have 7 wonderful cats whom I enjoy there company day and night.  The list is long why?

• Jazz’s love affair with open boxes
• Teattle’s full-body stretches and looking for me every time I’m in the shower
• When Mrs. Kitty curls up on my chest and puts her paw to my cheek
• When Jessie Jane gives me pet me now nudges
• Seven’s  attention-seeking stunts
• Samantha’s sandpaper kisses

 and finally with all of them their constant need to be near me, their ability to find the only square of sunshine on the carpet and fall asleep in it, their way they all curl their tails around their feet so tidily, when I wake up in the morning and look up they’re all there and their unconditional love and companionship.

This is what I call true cat care!!!

Well, this is Mike (on the right) today with his sister Jessie Jane and he still tears daily and will require medication for the rest of his life.  How did I finally resolve giving him his daily medication.  It was easy after thinking about the problem.  It was called a can of Bumble Bee Chunky Light Tuna. I have to feed Mike and his sister every morning trying to keep them separated from the Tuna delight with Mike’s powder medication mixed in his serving.  All the Cat Lovers need to remember that your cat health issues and problems are the up-most importance to keep them on the right track of being happy campers.

This cat drinking fountain turned out to be a big event of drinking water while also taking a plunge into a bath situation.  This is one of the most funniest videos I have seen in a long time.  Usually cats don’t like to get wet, but this cat is going for the gusto.  Very, very funny!
